Obituary For Victoria “Vicki” Mattos Bietsch

Vicki Bietsch, 76, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband, Tom (TR), and her brothers, Ken and Jack Mattos.

Born in Oakland, CA, to Jack Mattos of Oakland and Dorothy (Stuart) Mattos of Santa Ana, CA, Vicki’s early years were marked by grace, talent, and a passion for life. She was a celebrated Song Girl and dancer at Castro Valley High School and had the distinguished honor of being a substitute Oakland Raiderette for the first home game of the NFL expansion team, the Oakland Raiders.

Vicki graduated from UC Hayward with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development, earning the proud distinction of working her way through college. After graduation, she embarked on an adventure of a lifetime, traveling through Europe with her best friend, Patty Dimond—an experience she cherished and recounted often.

Her professional career was defined by excellence and leadership. She was a respected Human Resources professional, working with some of the nation’s top engineering firms, including Bechtel Power and Kaiser Engineers. Later, she founded and led highly successful HR consulting firms, partnering with Fortune 200 companies to recruit top talent for critical business positions. She also played a pivotal role in establishing the HR program for BrightStar Care, ensuring that top medical professionals were placed where they were needed most. Beyond her professional achievements, Vicki generously shared her counseling and mentoring skills with friends, family, and organizations that sought her guidance.

In 1983, Vicki married Thomas R. Bietsch Sr., and together she and TR built a life filled with love, family, and shared dreams. She was a devoted mother to their son, John Christian Bietsch, and embraced Thomas Bietsch and Trina Bietsch as her own.

Vicki was a selfless woman, a woman of kindness, elegance, and unwavering generosity. She cared deeply for others, always putting their needs before her own. She brought warmth, wisdom, and always a touch of style to every aspect of life. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

We love you forever Sweetheart.
